Leicestershire

Leicestershire, in the East Midlands in central England, is a mix of beautiful rolling countryside, villages with thatched cottages and cottages rooved with the local slate, and the busy, industrial city of Leicester.
 
Leicester is approximately 98 miles or 158 kilometres NNW of London on the M1 motorway. Off the motorway, you'll find a labrythinth of country roads lined with hedges and trees. If you don't know the area, a satnav is indispensable.

History buffs can visit roman ruins, the scenes of the Battle of Bosworth, the ruins of Lady Jane Grey's home at Bradgate Park, and the Great Central Railway.
