• 16 January to 3 February 2008 - Celtic Connections  - Glasgow's international traditional music festival and one of the largest winter festivals of its kind.

• 4 to 8 February 2008 - Animex International Festival of Animation and Computer Games - has its roots firmly planted in the creative side of the animation business, giving animators, directors, students, artists, designers, writers and educators a forum where they can share their knowledge and skills and promote the art of animation.
